Philadelphia, PA- The Rams kicked off the 2009-2010 season with plenty of new faces. The Rams welcomed in four new golfers along with new head coach Joe Martin who helped make the 2009 campaign very successful. Some of the highlights from the fall 2009 were:
September 13, 2009 at the Wilmington Fall Classic saw sophomore Brad Krohl (Clifton Park, NY/ Shenendehowa) fire a team low tournament total of 161 (75, 86) and senior-captain Russell Pierson (Tannersville, PA/Pocono Mountain East) shot a career low round of 76 on Day 2.
On October 10, 2009 at the Ace Club against Wilmington University and the University of the Sciences, Head Coach Joe Martin recorded his first collegiate victory. The final score was PhilaU 339 and USP 356, Wilmington was disqualified due to a player injury.
On October 21, 2009 in a PhilaU triangular match with the University of the Sciences and Chestnut Hill College the Rams notch their second win of the season. The Rams were able to use their home course advantage and overwhelm their opponents on the day firing a team total of 346. Sophomore Stanley Chun (San Francisco, CA/Palo Alto) was the day's medalist as well as the Rams low man as he tallied a 79.
Throughout the fall 2009 the Rams, notched two wins as well as a strong showing on the road at the Swarthmore Invitational, while appearing in four events. Sophomore Brad Krohl currently leads the Rams in scoring, averaging an 81.33 in three events. The Rams next return to action in the spring of 2010.
