Volleyball’s Rendon, Men’s Soccer’s Gladic Earn CACC Honors

Philadelphia, PA- It was a big week in Philadelphia University athletics, as three student-athletes earned conference honors for their performances ending on Sunday, September 7th.

Volleyball outside hitter Celena Rendon (San Antonio, TX/ Tom C. Clark) was named the CACC Player of the Week.  The junior had 18 kills, seven digs and three aces vs. East Stroudsburg.  She averaged 3.0 kills and 1.12 digs while holding a .355 attack percentage over five matches.   

Men's soccer junior Svetozar Gladic (Novi Sad, Serbia) earned CACC Player of the Week accolades after tallying three goals last week which included the game-winner in a 3-2 win over NCAA Division I Army. The forward also scored in a 1-1 overtime tie at Wheeling Jesuit. 

Women's tennis sophomore Adriana Rodriguez (San Juan, Puerto Rico) garnered CACC Honorable Mention as she stayed undefeated at first singles and second doubles (2-0) this season.
