Rams Down Griffins 59-52 with Balanced Attack

Philadelphia, PA- The Philadelphia University Rams (10-3, 4-0 CACC) defeated the Chestnut Hill College Griffins (2-13, 2-3 CACC) 59-52 on Wednesday evening at the Gallagher Athletic Center. The Rams jumped out to a 24-17 advantage at the half, led by junior guard Russell Frederick (Baltimore, MD/ Calvert Hall) with seven points and junior forward Mike Yocum (Dresher, PA/ Episcopal Academy) with four points and eight rebounds.

In second half, the Griffins kept the pressure on the Rams, led by guard Ryan Cook who finished the night with a game-high 20 points.

However, the Rams' depth and clutch free throw shooting towards the end of the game proved to be too much for the visiting Griffins. Frederick finished the game with 17 points and six assists, while Yocum contributed with 10 points and 15 rebounds. Also contributing to the winning effort was junior forward Malcolm Ingram (Philadelphia, PA/ Solebury Prep) who chipped in with nine points and 15 rebounds.

The Rams take the court next on January 17th at 2:00 PM, hosting Lincoln University (PA) at the Gallagher Athletic Center.
