Several Athletes Awarded by CACC

Philadelphia, PA- Several Philadelphia University athletes were honored by the CACC this past week.

After sweeping the men's and women's basketball championships, junior guard Russell Frederick (Blatimore, MD/Calvert Hall) and junior center Jess Romano (Horsham, PA/Hatboro-Horsham) were tabbed CACC Player of the Week. Frederick averaged 16 points, 4.7 assists and four rebounds during the CACC Tournament while shooting 51.8% from the field. Romano averaged 22.7 points and 10.3 rebounds pergame during the tournament while shooting 55.9% from the field and 88.2% from the free throw line. Both players were named CACC Tournament MVP.

Sophomore right-hander Jared Farbman (Philadelphia, PA/Central) was tabbed CACC Honorable Mention last week after throwing seven innings, allowing six hits and striking out seven hitters vs. #10 Franklin Pierce.

Freshman attcker Taylor Peltzer (Holland, PA/ Archbisop Wood) was tabbed CACC Rookie of Week after tallying five goals on nine shots in two games last week. Peltzer also picked up seven ground balls and forced two turnovers.
