Ninth Inning Single Leads Rams to 2-1 Victory Over Felician
Philadelphia, PA- The Philadelphia University Rams (10-19, 7-5 CACC) defeated the Felician College Golden Falcons (15-15, 5-6 CACC) 2-1 on Monday afternoon at Alumni Field.
Felician struck in the first inning after a two out walk and a pair of singles. The teams traded outs through the next few innings, until the Rams tied the game in sixth inning after a squeeze bunt by junior outfielder Mike Anderson (Waldwick, NJ/Waldwick) scored junior shortstop Tyler Mentzer (Gettysburg, PA/Delone Catholic).
The game remained tied at 1-1 until freshman utility player Joe Thayres (Thorofare, NJ/West Deptford) scored senior outfielder Kyle Noonan (Morristown, NJ/Morristown) on a walk-off single to score the winning run.
The Rams next matchup is Friday, April 17th at Dominican College at 3:00 p.m.
