Women's Tennis Ends 2008-09 Run at NCAA East Regional
The 2008-09 spring season ended with an NCAA East Regional 1st Round 5-0 loss to the #1 ranked Concordia Clippers in Waltham, Massachusetts- hosted by Bentley University.
The team went undfeated in the fall, clinching a CACC regular season and tournament championship. The Lady Rams held an overall record of 17-7, 7-0 CACC. Here are the key contributors to the team's success this year:
Sophomore second singles Daniela Rodriguez finished with a 24-4 singles record and 20-7 doubles record during the season. She was named CACC Women's Tennis Player of the Year after winning the CACC Individual Singles Championship and CACC All-Conference 1st Team. She also finished as CACC Tournament Women's Doubles runner-up with teammate Adriana Rodriguez.
Sophomore first singles Adriana Rodriguez finished the season with a 20-7 singles record and 20-7 doubles record while being named a CACC All-Conference 1st Team selection. She led the Lady Rams at #1 Singles and #1 Doubles with teammate Daniela Rodriguez and advanced to the semifinals of the CACC Tournament Singles and the finals of the Doubles bracket.
Freshman third singles Christina Brzozowski recorded a 11-7 record singles and a 15-6 #2 doubles record with teammate Stephanie Reinke. She was named CACC Rookie of the Year for her efforts. Brzozowski tallied one win in both the CACC Tournament Singles and Doubles brackets.
