PhilaU Serves Philadelphia Community at 2nd Annual ‘Day of Service’
Philadelphia, PA- The second annual Philadelphia University ‘Day of Service' was happening this Tuesday (9/15) and the Ram student-athletes were busy at various locations in Philadelphia serving their community.
PhilaU's ‘Day of Service' is a campus-wide event, created by current President Dr. Stephen Spinelli Jr. and encouraged by Athletic Director Tom Shirley.
"It's important for our student-athletes to give back to the Philadelphia community that molds them for four important years of their lives," said Shirley.
Six PhilaU varsity teams including men's and women's cross country, men's and women's tennis, and men's and women's basketball participated together at different locations including Fairmount Park, Arthur Ashe Youth Tennis, Hillside Recreation Center and Cook Elementary-Wissahickon. Other student-athletes worked with their classes at other projects throughout the day.
