Philadelphia, PA- Philadelphia University placed six student athletes on this week's Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) award list. Highlighting the awards was women's soccer freshman standout Trisha Sileo (Islip, NY/ Islip) who made her debut as ‘Rookie of the Week'
Sileo recorded three goals and two assists in a 2-0 week for the Lady Rams, connecting for a team-leading 17 points this season. Fellow women's soccer player, sophomore Gabrielle Haden (Freehold, NJ/ Colts Neck) netted weekly ‘Honorable Mention' as she also posted eight points on the week. The duo of Sileo/Haden combined for four goals and four assists last week.
Sophomore runner Sarah Simonetti (Perkasie, PA/ Pennridge) ran to her second straight ‘Runner of the Week' honor, taking first overall at the Delaware Invitational (19:39) leading PhilaU to the title. Senior runner Shawn D'Andrea (Blackwood, NJ/ Paul VI) was tabbed ‘Honorable Mention' after a second-place individual and team finish in Delaware.
Men's soccer senior forward Svetozar Gladic (Novi Sad, Serbia) was named ‘Honorable Mention' with three goals in a 2-0 week for the five-game streaking Rams. Volleyball senior outside-hitter Celena Rendon (San Antonio, TX/ Tom C. Clark) also earned ‘Honorable Mention' after averaging 1.92 kills and 3.67 digs for her 14-1 Lady Rams.
