CACC Weekly Awards Honors Seven PhilaU Athletes

Philadelphia, PA- Seven Philadelphia University student-athletes have been honored by the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) for their performances over the past week.

Women's tennis junior #1 singles player Daniela Rodriguez (Quito, Ecuador/ Colegio Menor) earned CACC ‘Player of the Week' for her 3-0 start in the top slot for the Lady Rams.

Women's soccer freshman standout Trisha Sileo (Islip, NY/ Islip) and men's soccer newcomer Ryan Purnell (Hamilton, Bermuda/ Berkeley Inst.) both received CACC ‘Rookie of the Week' honors.  Sileo is currently tied for the team lead in scoring with five points this season, while Purnell netted his first collegiate goal vs. Wheeling Jesuit.

CACC weekly Honorable Mentions went out to: volleyball senior Nicole Berkstresser (Bridgewater, NJ/ Raritan-Bridgewater), women's soccer sophomore Gabrielle Haden (Freehold, NJ/ Colts Neck) and cross country runners senior Shawn D'Andrea (Blackwood, NJ/ Paul VI) and sophomore Sarah Simonetti (Perkasie, PA/ Pennridge).
