CACC Awards: Five PhilaU Student-Athletes Selected

Philadelphia, PA- Five Philadelphia University student-athletes were honored this week by the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) for their outstanding performances. 

This week’s talented group is headlined by women’s cross country junior Sarah Simonetti, who drew her third ‘Runner of the Week’ honor after finishing second out of 280 entrants at the Paul Short Run.  She ran a 22:13 6K.   

Also running to an award was men’s cross country freshman Noah Hutton, who also picked up his third notice as ‘Rookie of the Week’ after leading the PhilaU men with a 16th-place individual finish in 26:51 in the 8K race.  His squad finished 18th overall.

PhilaU women’s soccer freshman Janine Cascio kicked her way to a ‘Rookie of the Week’ award (her first) with eight points on the week, including two goals each vs. Wilmington and Post.

Also picking up ‘Honorable Mention’ nods were women’s soccer senior midfielder Natalie Vespe and men’s soccer rookie midfielder Adam Miller
