CACC Weekly Awards: Simonetti, DiNucci, Finn, Blye
Philadelphia, PA- Four Philadelphia University student-athletes were honored by the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) this week for their recent performances.
PhilaU junior runner Sarah Simonetti wrapped up her third season with her seventh cross country ‘Runner of the Week’ award, claiming NCAA East All-Region this past weekend with a ninth place finish at the regional meet. She ran the 6K course in 23:08. Fellow junior teammate Anjelica DiNucci grabbed CACC weekly ‘Honorable Mention’ after placing 12th at regions in 23:33, also earning NCAA All-Region honors.
Women’s basketball opened their season with a CACC ‘Rookie of the Week’ award for freshman guard Megan Finn. The Collegeville native tallied 15 points, nine assists and three boards in her collegiate debut, an 87-44 win over Washington Adventist University. Sophomore teammate Kristen Blye racked up CACC weekly ‘Honorable Mention’ with 19 points, six boards and three assists in the WAU win.
