PhilaU’s Connolly, Wooding Garner CACC Weeklies
Philadelphia, PA- Two Philadelphia University basketball players, men’s guard Jim Connolly and women’s forward Christine Wooding earned Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) ‘Honorable Mention’ nods this week.
Connolly, a sophomore, had a season-high 24 points in a 74-71 win over Chestnut Hill. In that contest, he also grabbed five boards and handed out three assists. He is averaging a team-high 16 ppg, along with boasting a 93% free-throw line.
Wooding, a junior, recorded 18 points, seven rebounds and three steals in a 66-57 win over CHC, the Ram’s only contest of the week. She is averaging 14.5ppg and an 83% free-throw percentage-best among starters.
Both teams are in exam finals this week, and will next play on Sunday (12/19) at home vs. Wilmington University at 1 p.m. (women) and 3 p.m. (men) at the Gallagher Athletic Center.
