PhilaU Rowing Announces Spring Schedule

Philadelphia, PA- Philadelphia University Head Men’s and Women’s Rowing Coach Chris O’Brien has announced the spring schedule for 2011 which will open with a trip to sunny Florida in the Canal 54 Regatta (3/18-19), a welcome sojourn after a long northeast winter.

“I’m extremely proud of the hard work that has been put into winter training.  I have no doubt we’ll be performing at a high level,” said Coach O’Brien.

O’Brien’s boats will compete in a dual race at Washington College (MD) on April 2nd and then the Knecht Cup (Camden, NJ) on April 9-10th before returning to the Schuylkill River for four races in Philadelphia.

The women’s team is eligible to compete in the NCAA National Championships (Sacramento, CA) again this year, and as usual must qualify for the honor- an accomplishment they have achieved the past three years in a row.  Last year, the PhilaU women finished in third-place overall at the NCAA National Championships in Gold River, CA.
