Tennis Falls to District of Columbia, 6-3 and 9-0
Philadelphia, PA- The Philadelphia University men’s and women’s tennis teams went winless in a doubleheader at the Abraham J. Salaman’58 Courts on Saturday afternoon.
For the PhilaU men (7-4) the team fell 6-3 to the University of the District of Columbia. PhilaU points were scored at # 3 doubles with the team of Tom McAvoy and Seppi Hutter winning 8-3, and at #5 (Eric Guerrero) and #6 singles (Hutter). The Rams head back to the court for a Sunday (3/20) match at 1 p.m. vs. East Stroudsburg University.
On the women’s side, the Rams (7-7, 4-4 CACC) fell 9-0 to UDC. PhilaU #1 singles player Isabella Espinosa lost a hard-fought 3-6, 6-4, 12-10 match to UDC’s Jessica Nunez, while the #3 doubles tandem of Kate MacQueen and Megan Henry fell 8-3.
