Spada promoted to Assistant Director of Athletics/SWA
PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – Philadelphia University director of athletics Tom Shirley is pleased to announce the promotion of Stephanie Spada, the department’s current coordinator of NCAA compliance and community engagement, to assistant director of athletics/senior woman administrator Thursday.
“Steph has done a tremendous job for the University, the department and most importantly, our student-athletes, said Shirley. "Her promotion is well deserved and a great investment on the part of Philadelphia University."
Spada will continue to be responsible for the day-to-day NCAA compliance duties and all Division II community engagement initiatives.
“I am deeply honored and grateful for this opportunity,” said Spada. “I feel very lucky to be part of such an amazing team in the Athletics Department that functions under the direction of Tom Shirley.”
Spada began working in the Philadelphia University department of athletics in September 2008 as the fitness center coordinator/recreation specialist. In 2009 she shifted roles within the department and became the coordinator of NCAA compliance and community engagement.
A 2007 graduate of Brown University, Spada is currently pursuing her master’s degree in business administration at Philadelphia University.
