This Week in Ram Athletics: Jan. 23-Jan. 29

Men’s Basketball

Last Week: The Rams (12-4, 7-0 CACC) earned three more wins to extend to its winning streak to nine. Philadelphia defeated Chestnut Hill on Monday, 56-42. Three days later Corey Francisco hit the game-winning shot as time expired to give the Rams a 59-57 road win over Washington Adventist. Nick Schlitzer scored 25 points and Francisco added 24 as the Rams knocked on Bloomfield on Saturday, 85-66.

This Week: Philadelphia has a pair of CACC contests coming up this week. The Rams host Goldey-Beacom on Thursday before traveling to Caldwell for a Saturday match-up.

Need to Know: The Rams’ nine-game winning streak is the longest current streak in the NCAA Division II East Region.

Women’s Basketball

Last Week: The Lady Rams (14-4, 8-1 CACC) earned three more wins and pushed its winning streak to six. Christine Wooding recorded a double-double (18 points, 11 rebounds) in a 63-57 win over Chestnut Hill on Monday. Wooding (25 points, 10 rebounds), Kristen Blye (23 points, 14 points) and Taylor Peltzer (23 points) led the team to a 83-54 win on Thursday at Washington Adventist. Wooding (19 points), Blye (14 points) and Peltzer (14 points) teamed up again to help Philadelphia defeat Bloomfield, 67-56, on Saturday.

This Week: The Lady Rams welcome Goldey-Beacom to the Gallagher Center on Thursday. Two days later the team visits Caldwell.

Need to Know: Wooding is fifth in team history in career blocks (142) and Stephanie Agger ranked sixth in career steals (200) and 10th in career assists (359).
