This Week in Ram Athletics: Feb. 6-Feb. 12

Men’s Basketball

Last Week: The Rams (14-6, 9-2 CACC) picked up a pair of CACC victories to reclaim the top spot in the southern division. Temi Adebayo and Nick Christian each scored 18 points as Philadelphia defeated Wilmington on Tuesday, 85-70. On Saturday, Jim Connolly led four Rams in double-figures with 24 points to lead Philadelphia past Concordia, 85-70.

This Week: Philadelphia has three big games coming up in the next five days starting Tuesday against visiting Chestnut Hill. The Rams travel to Goldey-Beacom on Thursday to attempt exact some revenge for an earlier loss to the Lightning this season. The week wraps up with a road game at Dominican (N.Y.).

Need to Know: In their two wins last week, the Rams were behind for only 12 seconds. Philadelphia was down 35-34 to Wilmington with 18:28 left in the game. Nick Christian gave Philadelphia a 37-35 lead at the 18:26 mark by draining a three-pointer. The only tie in the two games (not counting 0-0) was 2-2 against Concordia.

Women’s Basketball

Last Week: The Lady Rams (17-5, 11-2 CACC) secured a spot in the upcoming CACC Championship Tournament after earning two victories. Christine Wooding scored a career-high 33 points and grabbed 17 rebounds to pace Philadelphia in a 74-43 win at Wilmington Tuesday night. On Saturday, Wooding went for 27 points and a career-best 19 rebounds as the Lady Rams took out Concordia (N.Y.), 100-51

This Week: Philadelphia has a trio of games coming up this week. The Lady Rams open the week up against Chestnut Hill Tuesday night. Philadelphia goes on the road to take on Goldey-Beacom (Thursday) and Dominican (Saturday).

Need to Know: Saturday's 100-point performance is the first for the Lady Rams since earning a 114-104 triple-overtime victory over Dominican (N.Y.) on Feb. 14, 2009. The last time the team broke triple digits in regulation was on Jan. 26, 2002 when the Lady Rams defeated Bridgeport 105-81.
