This Week in Ram Athletics: March 5-March 11
Last Week: The Rams (19-9) were defeated by Bloomfield in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Tournament semifinal round, 72-63.
This Week: Philadelphia earned an at-large bid into the NCAA Division II East Region Tournament. The Rams are the eight seed and will play top seed Franklin Pierce Saturday night at 6 p.m. The game will be played at Assumption College.
Need to Know: The Rams are in the NCAA Tournament for the 32nd time in program history, which is the second-highest total in Division II–behind Kentucky Wesleyan's 37 appearances—and the 26th under Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame head coach Herb Magee.
Last Week: The Rams went 1-3 against #8 Southern Connecticut State over the weekend at Diamond Nation in Flemington, N.J. On Friday Philadelphia fell in game one 10-0 and rebounded with an eight-run sixth inning to defeat the Owls 9-6. The Rams dropped a pair of games on Sunday to Southern Connecticut, 8-1 and 6-1
This Week: The Rams (2-5) open their home schedule against 2011 NCAA Division II World Series participant Millersville on Tuesday afternoon. Philadelphia hosts Bloomsburg Friday afternoon. On Saturday, the Rams will face the Huskies for a second time and Franklin Pierce.
This Week: Philadelphia begins its 2012 season with a non-conference doubleheader at West Chester on Tuesday. The team heads to Florida and kicks off the trip against Southern Connecticut and Bridgeport on Sunday.
This Week: The Lady Rams take on three-time defending national champion Adelphi in their season opener Saturday at Ravenhill Field.
Last Week: Philadelphia (2-5) was defeated by visiting NYIT, 6-3, Sunday afternoon.
This Week: The Rams have the week off. Philadelphia begins its spring break trip Monday, March 12 against Wayne State.
Last Week: Philadelphia (8-6) picked up its first win of the spring by knocking off NYIT on Sunday, 5-4.
This Week: The women’s tennis team doesn’t play again until March 20 when it travels to West Chester.
