This Week in Ram Athletics: March 12-March 18
Last Week: The Rams (19-10) had their season come to an a close after a 59-58 loss to Franklin Pierce University in the opening round of the NCAA Division II East Region Tournament Saturday night at Assumption College. Jim Connolly led Philadelphia with a game-high 19 points.
Need to Know: Connolly moved into 39th place on the Philadelphia University all-time scoring list with 1,127 points. In two seasons with the Rams, center Temi Adebayo blocked 201 shots, which is fifth all-time.
Last Week: Philadelphia (3-8) posted a 1-3 record last week. The Rams started off the week by defeating Millersville, 7-6. The Rams were defeated by Bloomsburg twice, 11-9 and 4-2, and #19 Franklin Pierce, 20-1.
This Week: Philadelphia faces Mercy, Nova Southeastern, New Haven and UMass-Lowell in Florida for its spring break trip.
Last Week: Philadelphia started its season with a doubleheader split against West Chester University. The Lady Rams, behind a complete-game six hitter from Nicole Troisi and a 3-for-4 game from second baseman Meghan Lewis, defeated the Golden Rams, 6-2. Philadelphia dropped game two, 11-3 in five innings. The team’s first two games in Florida against Southern Connecticut and Bridgeport were rained out.
This Week: Philadelphia is in Florida for its spring break trip. The team takes on Mercy, Bentley, Lock Haven, East Stroudsburg and Alderson Broaddus.
Last Week: The Lady Rams (1-1) opened the 2012 season with a 21-3 loss to second-ranked Adelphi on Saturday. One day later Philadelphia recovered to knock off Post, 24-3, in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference opener.
This Week: Philadelphia has a pair of home games against CACC competition. The Lady Rams take on Chestnut Hill on Thursday and will face the defending CACC championship Georgian Court on Saturday.
Need to Know: Philadelphia entered the 2012 season as the top team in CACC coaches preseason poll.
Last Week: The men’s tennis team had the week off.
This Week: The team headed south to Florida for three matches against Wayne State (Mich.), Stonehill and McKendrie.
