Philadelphia University lands conference-high eight student-athletes on 2013-14 CACC Winter All-Academic Team

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Philadelphia University had a conference-best eight student-athletes named to the 2013-14 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Winter All-Academic Team that was released on Tuesday.

Five women’s basketball players and three men’s basketball players earned their way on to the team.

Senior Megan Finn (Collegeville, Pa./Perkiomen Valley) headlines the honorees as a three-time selection to the team.

Senior Courtney Overholt (Centreville, Va./Flint Hill) and juniors Najah Jacobs (Philadelphia, Pa./Central), Monica Schacker (Doylestown, Pa./Germantown Academy), and Nick Schlitzer (Pottsville, Pa./Pottsville) were named to the team for a second time.

Sophomores Peter Alexis (Wilkes-Barre, Pa./Holy Redeemer), Andre Gibbs (Smyrna, Del./Smyrna), and Tori Arnao (Newtown, Pa./Archbishop Wood) are first timers on the team.

So far this year Philadelphia University has had a conference-best 35 student-athletes named to a CACC All-Academic Team.

In order to be named to the CACC Winter All-Academic team, recipients must have participated in a CACC Championship sport in the winter. They must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, have been a student-athlete at their current school for at least two semesters, and have achieved a cumulative grade-point-average of 3.50 or higher through the winter semester.
