Athlete of the Month: Celena Rendon

Philadelphia, PA- Philadelphia University senior outside hitter Celena Rendon (San Antonio, TX/ Tom C. Clark) has been selected as November's ‘Athlete of the Month' after she wrapped up a remarkable career at PhilaU recently after leading her team to their second-straight Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference runner-up finish.

The Texas native earned a spot on the 2009 Daktronics Division II All-East Region Women's Volleyball 1^st Team and she is now eligible for All-American honors.

Rendon was also named the 2009 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) ‘Player of the Year' and was picked for the CACC All-Conference 1^st Team. Rendon finished the season with 242 kills and 386 digs.
