Weekly Ram Report

Head Coach Herb Magee and his Philadelphia University men's
basketball team remained undefeated in the Central Atlantic
Collegiate Conference (CACC) following a 2-1 record last week with
the lone loss coming out-of-conference. In the Rams' opening
contest on February 5th, they hosted non-league foe Adelphi
University, falling in a hard-fought contest, 50-46.
Sophomore center Mike Yocum went a perfect 6 of 6 from the field,
finishing with a team-high 13 points for Philadelphia University
while fellow sophomore Malcolm Ingram added 11 points and seven
rebounds before fouling out in the closing minutes of the
setback. Magee's squad got back on track in their next
outing, however, taking a 70-53 decision from the University of the
Sciences on February 7th at the Gallagher Center. Ingram
poured in a game-high 22 points and collected 13 rebounds to lead
the way with senior forward Jason Hickenbottom tallying 18 points,
eight boards and six assists. The Rams then closed out the
busy week with a thrilling 64-59 win over league rival Holy Family
University on February 9th before a national-television audience at
home. Junior guard Mike Dunn, closing in on the 1000-point
club, led Philadelphia University with 20 points including four
three-point field goals and needs just 16 points to become the 46th
men's player in school history to reach the milestone. Ingram
added 15 points and nine rebounds, narrowly missing his team-high
tenth double-double of the season. Now 14-11 overall and 11-0
in the CACC, the Rams will be back on the road for their next
outing, a conference battle at Chestnut Hill College on Wednesday,
February 13th, before returning home to face Felician College on
Saturday, February 16th.
