Student-Athlete Advisory Committee 2008-2009

"Building School Spirit, Building Tradition... Building Ram Pride!"

SAAC's goals for the year are to create a sense of spirit and community among our intercollegiate teams as well as to get involved in programming that contributes to the department, university and greater community.

-Delivery of school uniforms to Northern Home for Children, purchased with proceeds from Ram Madness 2007 (shown below)

-Men's and Women's Basketball vs. Holy Family
-Think Pink Day to Raise Awareness of Breast Cancer
-WBCA Take-A-Kid to the Game Day
-NCAA DII Game of the Week, men's game will be nationally carried on CSTV (television and broadband).
-Recognition of scholar student-athletes from the Fall, 2007 Academic Honor Roll

-A packed house at the Gallagher Center ushers in the 2007-'08 basketball seasons, salutes the spring 2007 scholar-athletes and most importantly, raises money for Northern Home for Children.

-NCAA Speaker Program's "Guide to Social Networking for Athletes"
-1:30 p.m. Kanbar Performance Space
-Mandatory event for all Fall & Winter Sports

Also last fall (2007), the women's basketball team made Halloween cards for patients at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and they conducted a hoops clinic for students at St. Helena School in Blue Bell, Pa. Both of these women's basketball community-outreach initiatives are shown below.

August 22-23, 2007
-Rams and Lady Rams volunteer to assist incoming freshmen in moving into their dormitories; then gather for ice cream, the dodgeball tournament and more at the Athletic & Recreation Center.
