"A Winning Combination of School Spirit, Tradition and Pride."
SAAC's goals for the year are to create a sense of spirit and community among our intercollegiate teams as well as to get involved in programming that contributes to the department, university and greater community.
Spring 2009 Events
NCAA Division II Community Engagement
- Philadelphia University hosted A Night with the Philly Four: Philadelphia University, Chestnut Hill College, Holy Family University and University of the Sciences
1st Annual Spinelli Cup
- Basketball game between Philadelphia University faculty and staff
Think Pink
- Men and women's basketball teams joined the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) and over 1,250 schools that committed in participating in the Pink Zone initiative
Fall 2008 Events
1st Annual Silly Olympics at Georgian Court University
- Eighty-four student-athletes representing the 13 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) institutions participated in the first annual Silly Olympics for Wishes.The Silly Olympics, which helped raise money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation, was the brainchild of the CACC Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC).
Day of Service
- Athletes getting involved within the community at local sites throughout Philadelphia.
NCAA Speaker Program
- Former Fox 29 Sports Director Don Tollefson speaks about his One Child Saved charity

NCAA Leadership Academy
- Nick White (M. Soccer) and Melissa Hess (Field Hockey) and Faculty Athletic Representative Professor Steven Frumkin meet up with over 300 Division II delegates here in Philadelphia. The weekend event was part of the CHAMPS/Life Skills program
Fall 2007 Events
Freshmen Move-In and Fall Social
- fall teams helped freshmen students and their families move in across campus. concluding with an ice cream social
- fall athletes then hosted their own dodgeball tournament
All Sports Day
- SAAC representatives from each team came together to teach basic sport skills to kids from the Northern Home for Children
Ram Madness
- proceeds collected from attendance of Ram Madness went to purchasing uniforms for the Northern Home for Children
Halloween Celebrations
- field hockey team went trick-or-treating for money to benefit Food Allergy and Anaphylaxis Network (FAAN)
- women's basketball made Halloween cards for patients at Childrens Hospital of Philadelphia
Penny War contest
- all varsity athletic teams brought in coins to donate to Make-A-Wish
Hoops Clinic
- women's basketball hosted a clinic for students of St Helena School (Blue Bell, PA) to practice their skills
Men's Soccer and Softball teams work the concession stand during home basketball games to raise money for Make-A-Wish
Men and Women's Soccer and Baseball teams collected donations for Toys-for-Tots
