The Gallagher Athletic, Recreation, and Convocation Center

The home of the Philadelphia University department of athletics, The Gallagher Athletic, Recreation, and Convocation Center opened its doors in August of 2006.

An addition to Althouse Hall, The Gallagher Athletic, Recreation, and Convocation Center houses Herb Magee Court--the home court of the men's and women's basketball, and women's volleyball teams. The court was named after the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame head coach during the 2006-07 school year.

The Center--named after James P. Gallagher, Ph.D., Philadelphia University’s 10thpresident, for his 23 years of service--has two more regulation-size basketball courts, a state-of-the-art fitness center, aerobics studio, racquetball court and elevated jogging track, as well as a 251-space underground parking garage.
