CACC Names Ingram and Romano to Weekly Basketball Honorable Mention List

The Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) recognized two Philadelphia University sophomore basketball student-athletes today, as center Jessica Romano of the women's team and forward Malcolm Ingram (pictured) from the men's team both earned honorable mention for their efforts on the court over the past week.

As preparation for fall-term final exams filled the schedules of students last week, both the Rams and Lady Rams played just one game. For the men, Ingram scored a career-high and game-high 23 points while pulling down seven rebounds in the Rams' 77-76 overtime loss to visiting UMass Lowell on Dec. 12. His layup with :05 seconds left sent the game into extra minutes as Philadelphia University staged a valiant comeback after trailing by as many as 11 points with under four minutes left in regulation. Ingram continues to shine in his second season playing for Head Coach Herb Magee, as the talented frontcourt player sits second on the team in scoring with 13.4 ppg, while leading the Rams in rebounds at 7.1 rpg. For the women's team, Romano continues to be a major factor for Head Coach Tom Shirley's Lady Rams. In their only game last week, the product of Hatboro-Horsham High School notched 21 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead the women's basketball team to a 73-64 victory at Molloy College in Rockville Centre, N.Y. Philadelphia University trailed the Lady Lions 40-36 at halftime, but Romano's second-half performance (eight boards and 12 points) keyed the Lady Rams rally as they took command of the contest in the closing frame. Through the first eight games of the young season, Romano leads the Lady Rams in scoring (18.8 ppg) and rebounding (9.6 rpg), averaging nearly a double-double while playing more than 36 mpg.
