Baseball Announces Class of 2013
Philadelphia, PA- The Philadelphia University baseball team has signed five high-school seniors to nation letters of intent during the early signing period, head coach Mark Heineman announced today.
The signees are: Jeff Bohus (6'1", 195; IF; Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill East; Major: marketing), Mike Delaney (6'0", 175; IF; Springfield, PA/Springfield; Major: business), Kevin Gibbs (6'5", 190; C/1B; Pitman, NJ/Pitman; Major: engineering), Jordan Force (6'1", 165; OF; Pennsburg, PA/Upper Perkiomen; Major: landscape architecture) and Russ Trojan (6'1", 225; RHP/1B; Springfield, PA/Cardinal O'Hara; Major: management information systems).
"We're excited to have these young men commit to us and look forward to having them represent Philadelphia University both on and off the field," said coach Heineman.
Coach Heineman is also pleased to announce the addition of assistant coach Shaun Babula for the spring 2009 season. Babula's focus will be on the pitchers as well as overall player development.
"As arguably the best two-way player in PhilaU baseball history and with his extensive professional experience, we are eager to have Shaun back," said Heineman.
Babula will be finishing his undergraduate degree at Philadelphia University and plans to pitch in Italy this upcoming summer.
