Heavy Hitters Mentzer and DiFrancesco Lead The Rams To An 8-2 Victory

Philadelphia, PA- Philadelphia University’s baseball team (6-10, 5-4 CACC) took on Wilmington University (19-4, 8-1 CACC) beating them 8-2 in their conference game. 

Freshman pitcher Russell Trojan (Springfield, PA/Cardinal O'Hara) pitched eight innings for the Rams, with junior Jared Farbman (Philadelphia, PA/Central H.S.) came in to finish the game.

Offensively the bats were swinging.  Junior third baseman Anthony DiFrancesco (Landenberg, PA/Salesianum H.S.) had three hits and two RBIs in the game.  Senior, shortstop Tyler Mentzer (Gettysburg, PA/Delone Catholic H.S.) had a three run homer in the top of the eighth inning to make it 8-1.

The team will face Millersville University tomorrow (4/8) away for a 3:00 p.m. start time.
