Miles Miller is in his second season as the pitching coach for the Philadelphia University baseball program.

Miller, a native of Tahoe City, Calif., was the pitching coach for the New Bedford Bay Sox of New England Collegiate Baseball League (NECBL) this past summer. The Bay Sox were second were in the league in opponent batting average, hits allowed and third in earned run average (ERA). Two Bay Sox pitchers played in the 2011 NECBL All-Star Game.

He spent the summer of 2010 as the pitching coach of the Atlantic Collegiate Baseball League’s (ACBL) Torrington Titans. The Titans posted the league’s second best ERA and had three pitchers on the ACBL Top 25 prospects list. Two pitchers—Chris Reed (16th overall to the Los Angeles Dodgers and Brooks Belter (25th round to the Tampa Bay Rays)—were selected in the 2011 Major League Baseball Draft.

Before joining the Titans’ staff, Miller was the first base coach and worked with the hitters and infielders, including Great Northeast Athletic Conference third team selection Kyle Calechman, at Albertus Magnus College during the 2010 season.

Miller pitched collegiately at Grand Canyon University (2006-07) and San Diego Mesa College (2003-05). He graduated from Grand Canyon with a degree in business management.

Miller, now residing in Philadelphia, will be the pitching coach for the Waterloo Bucks of the Northwoods League in the summer of 2012.
