Field Hockey Ends Season in 8-0 Loss at #1 Bloomsburg
Bloomsburg, PA- The Philadelphia University women's field hockey team (6-11) ended their season with an 8-0 loss to the #1 team in the country and defending national champions, Bloomsburg University (17-1) on Sunday afternoon. The loss ended a three-game win streak for Phila U.
The Lady Rams held off the Huskies for nearly nine and half minutes, but BU's Samantha Kropa got the 1-0 game-winner and her squad never looked back. The Huskies scored seven first-half goals.
Senior Brooke Woodland (West Grove, PA/ Avon Grove) ended her final season tying the Phila U. record for most goals in a season (15), and currently is ranked # 4 in the country in goals per game (1.07) and #7 nationally in points in a season.
Freshman goalie Kelsey Gavigan (Cape May, NJ/ Lower Cape May) had 17 saves for the Lady Rams.
