Victory: Lynette Buck Gets Gamewinner in 4-3 OT Win at Adelphi
Garden City, NY- Sophomore Lynette Buck Aquashicola, Pa./Palmerton) scored the game-winning goal just three minutes into the overtime period as the Lady Rams (3-8) got a 4-3 OT win at Adelphi (2-4) on Sunday.
Adelphi scored three goals in the first period to take a comfortable 3-0 lead, but the Lady Rams changed all that in the second period.
Senior Brooke Woodland (West Grove, Pa./Avon Grove) scored at 36:15 off a corner from senior Carson Mumma (Lancaster, Pa./Penn Manor) to cut the lead 3-1. It wasn't until 61:01 that Buck tallied her first goal of the contest, followed by another Woodland goal just over a minute later, assisted by Buck.
Tied at 3-3, the game went into overtime. Buck waited just two minutes to net her game-winner (72:12), assisted by junior Leah Arthur (Silver Spring, Md./Springbrook).
Senior goalie Anne Strobel (Middlebury, CT/Pomperaug) had four saves in goal for Phila U.
Next the Lady Rams will travel to Millersville on Thursday, October 2nd at 4:00 p.m.
