2010 Golf Season Highlights
The Philadelphia University golf team completed their first season under new Head Coach Joe Martin in 2010. The Rams, who hosted four home matches at The Ace Club, completed the season with a second-place finish in a home tri-match just two strokes behind winner Felician College.
The team was led by team MVP sophomore Ryan O’Donnell, who finished the spring with a first-place finish (4/17) at Ace, shooting a 79 and tied for 25th overall at the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Championships held at Lyman Orchards Golf Club in Waterbury, CT.
Fellow sophomore Brad Krohl made strides for PhilaU as well, who finished in sixth at the Widener Invitational (77) and tied for third in a home tri-match on 4/17. Rookie Tim Gobrecht pleased Coach Martin as he shot an 84 in the Ram’s final match of the year to take fourth place at The Ace Club.
As a team at the CACC Championships, PhilaU finished eighth overall. The squad picks up action in the September 2010.
