Mens Golf Team Places Ninth at Wilmington Fall Classic
Middletown, DE-The Wilmington Fall Classic was a 36-hole event on Sunday (9/13), played at Frog Hollow in Middletown, DE. The course played long due to the heavy rains from Friday and Saturday and the wind kicked up on Sunday afternoon to make the 6,608 yard course play even longer. The host Wilmington University won the tournament on at its home course event shooting a team score of 594, followed by Wesley College who shot a team score of 611 and in third was McDaniel College at 612.
PhilaU shot a team score of 675 placing them ninth out the 11
teams that competed. Senior captain Russ
Pierson (Tannersville,PA/Pocono Mountain East) got off to
a slow start but managed to shoot one of the low 18 scores of the
day with a 76. Sophomore Brad Krohl (Clifton
Park, NY/Shenendehowa) shot an impressive 75 on his first 18.
