Malcolm Ingram Tabbed Second-Team Regional All-America

Sophomore forward Malcolm Ingram was named to
the 2008 Daktronics Division II Northeast All-Region team today, in
voting done by the region's Sports Information Directors.
Ingram was named to the second team and the recognition marks
the fifth consecutive year the Rams have had a player voted to the
All-Region team with Ingram joining Christian Burns (2007) and
Tayron Thomas (2004-06).
In his first year as a starter for Head Coach Herb
Magee, Ingram leads the team in scoring (16.7 ppg) and
rebounding (8.4 rpg), helping the Rams to a second straight berth
in the NCAA Division II Tournament. Ingram also topped the
team in field goal percentage (49.5%) and double-doubles with 13,
earning Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) first-team
All-Conference accolades. Ingram was also named to the 2008
CACC Championship All-Tournament team, helping Philadelphia
University to a 73-67 double-overtime win over Holy Family
University in the title game where he posted a team-high 19 points,
grabbed 11 rebounds and blocked a career-high six shots.
"Malcolm is very deserving of this recognition," said Magee of the
Philadelphia native. "When you lose someone the caliber of
Christian Burns, the national Player of the Year, to graduation,
someone needs to step into that void and Malcolm did everything
that we asked of him and more. He worked extremely hard
during the offseason and came in prepared to lead this team and
that is exactly what he did. I truly think this is just the
beginning as well, as he has just begun to scratch the surface of
his potential."
Ingram and his teammates will open the 2008 NCAA Tournament on
Saturday, March 15th, at noon when the sixth-seeded Rams
square off against third-seeded College of Saint Rose in the
Northeast Regional. Top-ranked and undefeated Bentley
College, located in Waltham, Mass., will serve as the host of the
regional for the second consecutive year and games will be webcast
