Ingram Scores 1,000th Point as Rams Edge Post University 58-48
Philadelphia, PA- The Philadelphia University Rams (16-3, 8-0 CACC) defeated the Post University Eagles (11-7, 5-3 CACC) 58-48 Saturday afternoon at the Gallagher Athletic Center.
The first half was dominated by stellar defense from both squads, as very few points were scored for much of the first ten minutes of play. However, the Rams found their rhythm as they took a 28-23 lead at the 3:10 mark, and held a 30-26 lead at the half.
Also in the first half, junior forward Malcolm Ingram (Philadelphia, PA/ Solebury Prep) entered the record books as he scored his 1,000 career point on a tip-in at the 10:41 mark.
The second half heated up after teams exchanged technical fouls. At the half way point, the Rams held a ten point lead that dwindled away as the Eagles three point shooting started to pick up, cutting the lead to two points at 45-43.
The Rams took a lead 50-44 on a clutch three from senior guard Mike Dunn (Harrisburg, PA/ Central Dauphin) at the 4:00 minute mark. Defense continued to be a major factor down the stretch as clutch rebounding and blocks by the Rams helped put the Eagles away 58-48.
The Rams were led by Ingram's 20 points and 14 rebounds, while junior forward Mike Yocum (Dresher, PA/ Episcopal Academy) chipped in with 11 points, 10 rebounds, and six blocked shots.
The Rams next travel to Goldey-Beacom College on February 5th for an 8:00 p.m. start.
