KYW News Radio Anchor Matt Leon to Broadcast PhilaU Basketball
Philadelphia, PA- The Philadelphia University men's and women's basketball teams are proud to announce the addition of KYW News Radio 1060 anchor Matt Leon to the www.CACC.TV live internet broadcast for the 2008-09 season. Leon will join Jonathon Dworkin to complete the Ram broadcast team.
PhilaU basketball games will be broadcast live via www.pennatlantic.com, a www.CACC.TV partner.
Leon has extensive sports reporting experience as a news and sports anchor at KYW since 2002. In addition, he has done play-by-play for several high-profile teams including the University of Pennsylvania football team, Mount Saint Mary's basketball while the #6 NCAA all-time winningest men's coach Jim Phelan was at the helm, and Penn State ice hockey. He also has extensive play-by-play high school football and basketball experience.
Dworkin returns to PhilaU after doing play-by-play for both the men's and women's basketball teams in February 2008. Dworkin, a 2007 graduate of Syracuse University's S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications has experience as an ESPN Radio freelance anchor. He also did play-by-play for Syracuse football, basketball and the Syracuse SkyChiefs (AAA baseball) along with high school football, basketball and baseball in Levittown, Pennsylvania.
The PhilaU squads are set to kick off the basketball season on Saturday, November 15th as the women host New York Institute of Technology at 2:00 p.m. and the #25 ranked men travel to St. Rose College for a 2:00 p.m. rematch of the Ram's NCAA Tournament 1st round loss in 2008.
