Ram’s Stop ‘Cats in 77-65 Win over Wilmington

Philadelphia, PA- The Philadelphia University Rams (17-5, 9-2 CACC) forced 14 turnovers in beating the Wilmington University Wildcats (5-18, 2-10 CACC) 77-65, their second win over the 'Cats this year.  The Rams turned the ball over just six times and were led by junior guard Marcus Lemon's (Alexandria, VA/ T.C. Williams) game-high 19 points and four boards. 

The Rams never trailed as they jumped out to an early 14-5 advantage, keyed by junior forward Malcolm Ingram (Philadelphia, PA/ Solebury Prep) with five points- his only scores of the night.  The Wildcats got within one (16-15) on a foul shot at 6:30 in the first half by Kevin Cooper, who led his squad with 18 points on the night. 

PhilaU freshman forward J.J. Gundry (McAdoo, PA/ Hazelton) scored the Ram's final eight points of the first half in just six and a half minutes of action.

PhilaU led 30-19 at the half.

Senior guard Mike Dunn (Harrisburg, PA/ Central Dauphin) opened up the second stanza with his first of three treys, as he had 15 points and three boards on the night. 

Junior guard Russell Frederick (Baltimore, MD/ Calvert Hall) made four free-throws with less than three minutes to keep the Ram's ahead 68-53, and in the final minute PhilaU went 5-6 at the charity stripe to capture a 77-65 win over WU.  Frederick finished the night by tying his assist career high (11) in addition to 15 points and nine boards. 

The Ram's host University of the Sciences-Philadelphia on Thursday (2/12) at 8 p.m. at the Gallagher Athletic Center in their final week of home games before the post-season.
