Lacrosse Takes 23-2 Stumble at Bloomsburg
Bloomsburg, PA- The Philadelphia University lacrosse team (0-3) fell 23-2 to the Bloomsburg University Huskies (3-0) on Saturday afternoon. The Lady Rams were led by freshman attacker Taylor Peltzer (Holland, PA/ Archbishop Wood) and sophomore attacker Kelly Dallas (Cherry Hill, NJ/ Cherry Hill East).
BU outshot PhilaU 44-16 for the game, and the Lady Rams turned the ball over more 31-BU's 20.
The Lady Rams took a brief 1-0 lead in the first half, keyed by Peltzer's score at 6:29, unassisted. BU responded just a few minutes later with a goal to tie it 1-1, and the Huskies went on a 23-0 run through the next two periods until PhilaU's Dallas scored the final goal of the game at 59:36 to make it 23-2.
PhilaU junior goalie Katherine Sullivan (Mt. Laurel, NJ/ Lenape) had 16 saves in goal in 60 minutes of action, while BU's Allison Ziants made six stops.
The Lady Rams return to action on Tuesday, March 17 at Wilmington for a 3:00 p.m. start.
