’09 NCAA East Regionals: #8 PhilaU vs. #1 C.W. Post on Saturday at 6 PM

Philadelphia, PA- The Philadelphia University men's basketball team (25-5, 14-2 CACC) has been selected as the #8 seed in the NCAA Division II Men's Basketball East Regional Tournament. The team will face the tournament host and #1 seed C.W. Post (27-0) on Saturday, March 14^th at 6 p.m. Complete tournament information can be found here.

"We've accomplished our first goal of winning the CACC championship this season, and on Saturday we'll continue to pursue the ultimate goal which is to win a regional and then a national championship," said head coach Herb Magee.

The Ram's 2008-09 tournament trip marks the 24^th time that Coach Magee has taken PhilaU to the "dance". The Rams received an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament for the third consecutive year with a 63-56 win over Bloomfield College in the CACC Championship.

C.W. Post won their second East Coast Conference Championship title with a 62-56 win over the University of Bridgeport, and returns to the tournament for the second straight year.

Regional winners advance to the men's Elite Eight will be held at American International College and the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield, Massachusetts on 3/25, 3/26, 3/28.
