Philadelphia, PA- The Philadelphia University men's basketball team (14-6, 6-1 CACC) made the cut in the season's first NCAA Division II regional ranking, earning a #8 spot in the East Region poll. The poll is voted on by the NCAA DII Men's Basketball Committee, which ranks the top 10 teams in eight regions of the United States.
The Rams, who are currently riding a four-game winning streak, received the second-highest ranking among Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) institutions. Bloomfield College (#7) and Felician College (#10)- were the only other conference teams to make the poll.
PhilaU is led by senior guard Russell Frederick (Baltimore, MD/ Calvert Hall) who is averaging 19 ppg this season, along with senior forward Malcolm Ingram (Philadelphia, PA/ Calvert Hall) with 16.5 ppg and a team-leading 8.8 rpg.
