Men's Basketball Picks Up Two More Preseason Rankings

Philadelphia, PA-The PhilaU Men's basketball team has been no stranger to preseason accolades this year.  Two more national polls were released recently and both included the Rams. The NABC/Division II Preseason Coaches' Poll picked PhilaU at #25, while the Basketball Times Preseason Poll gave the maroon and gray a #12 ranking.

The PhilaU team was the lone Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) team to make either poll.

The NABC list included two PhilaU opponents this season: including #3 Southwest Baptist and #15 Merrimack.

PhilaU head coach Herb Magee will be celebrating his 50th year at the University this season, as a player, assistant coach and head coach.  He is currently third on the NCAA list for All-Time Coaching Wins (880) and will look to surpass legendary former Indiana coach Bobby Knight's record of 902 wins this season.

The Basketball Times also gave nods to senior 6'4 forward Malcolm Ingram (Philadelphia, PA/ Solebury Prep) and senior 6'1 guard Russell Frederick (Baltimore, MD/ Calvert Hall) as Preseason All-Americans.
