Coach Magee Throws Ceremonial First Pitch at Phillies Home Opener

Philadelphia, PA- Philadelphia University Coach Herb Magee, who recently became the #1 NCAA men’s basketball coach in history, will throw the ceremonial first pitch at the Philadelphia Phillies’ home opener against the Washington Nationals on Monday, April 12 at 3:05 p.m.

Magee won his 903rd career game on Feb. 23 2010, passing Bobby Knight’s record to become the top men’s basketball coach with all wins in the NCAA. Magee ended the current season with 907 wins as the team made it to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Division II tournament.

A Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame nominee and Pennsylvania and Philadelphia Sports Hall of Famer, Magee has had an extraordinary career during his 50 seasons as a player and coach at Philadelphia University.
