PhilaU Men’s Hoopster Mike Yocum Named CCA Regional Winner

Philadelphia, PA- Philadelphia University senior men's basketball student-athlete Mike Yocum (Dresher, PA/ Episcopal Academy) has been named the Conference Commissioner's Association (CCA) ‘Scholar-Athlete' winner for the East region.

The award was voted on by all the conference commissioners in NCAA Division II. 

Last season, Yocum earned several scholar-athlete awards including:  the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year, 2009 Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area Men's Basketball team, CACC Winter All-Academic Team, CACC All-Conference 2nd Team and the CACC All-Tournament Team.

He averaged 10.5 points and 8.8 rebounds per-game and was ranked 14th in the country with an average of 2.52 blocks per-game. Yocum also started in every game and logged an average of 35.0 minutes per-contest.
