Worcester, MA- The Philadelphia University Rams (5-5, 2-1 CACC) fell 70-58 in their first post-holiday outing to the Stonehill College Skyhawks (7-3, 3-3 NE-10) in a rematch of last year's NCAA Division II Basketball East Regional, this time held at Assumption College's Laska Gym.

The last time the two teams had met, PhilaU eliminated host Stonehill College from the NCAA DII East Region Tournament 71-69 on March 14th 2010.

PhilaU sophomore guard Jim Connolly and junior forward Corey Francisco each led PhilaU with 15 points apiece.

PhilaU led early in the first half, but the Skyhawks fought back, leading by as many as 14 in that stanza and holding a 41-30 halftime advantage.

In the second period, a trey by Francisco at 14:57 and two Connolly free-throws would put the Rams within two (45-43), but that would be as close as they got.  SC went on a 10-0 run to pull away to hold on to the eventual 70-58 non-conference victory.

SC's Patrick Lee led all scorers with 17 points and nine boards as four of the Skyhawk starters scored in double-digits.  Also putting up numbers for PhilaU were eight points each from senior forward Ola Sasona and sophomore guard Ed DiRugeris.

PhilaU plays tomorrow(12/30), a 3 p.m. affair with host Assumption College before heading back to Philadelphia.
