CACC Men’s Basketball All-Conference Announced
New Haven, CT- Three Philadelphia University men's basketball hoopsters were named Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) All-Conference for the 2010-2011 season.
Topping the list was PhilaU sophomore guard Jim Connolly, who earned Second-Team honors. This is his first time as an All-Conference honoree. Connolly led the Rams through the regular season with 17.3 ppg and 4.9 rpg. He was ranked nationally for his free-throw shooting (90%), getting the #1 ranking at one point during the year. He also knocked down a team-best 79 three-pointers.
Getting nods on the CACC All-Conference 'Honorable Mention' list were junior guard/forward Corey Francisco and junior center Temi Adebayo. Francisco scored a team second-best 14.2 ppg this season, along with 6.4 rpg. He shot 50% from the field throughout the regular season. Adebayo made his presence known in the CACC with his extraordinary shot-blocking, currently ranked #1 in the nation with 4.1b/g. He added offense with 11.5ppg/ 6.6 rpg to record an impressive first year after transferring from NCAA Division I Saint Joseph's University this season.
In other news today, PhilaU freshman guard Nick Christian was named CACC 'Co-Rookie of the Week' for his performance last week 14.5 ppg/ 6.5 rpg/ 4.5 apg. He is currently averaging 9.0 ppg this season.
