Philadelphia, PA- Philadelphia men's basketball junior center Temi Adebayo was recently named the NCAA Statistical Champion in blocks/game.  The transfer from St. Joseph's led the nation with 4.2 blocks/game during the 2010-11 season.

Adebayo tallied 101 blocked shots in 24 games for the Rams.  In just one season, he ranks third in blocked shots/season.

"I'm very pleased with his overall progress, not just his shot blocking," said PhilaU Head Men's Basketball Coach and soon-to-be Hall of Famer Herb Magee.  "He's going to have an outstanding senior season."

Adebayo becomes just the second individual in PhilaU men's basketball program history to achieve such an honor.  Tayron Thomas'06 was the NCAA DII Statistical Champion in points/game in 2006.  He finished his career with 2,414 points, which is the most in the Ram record books.

In the 2010-11 season, PhilaU finished with a 15-12 overall record and 10-7 in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC).
