LOWELL, Mass – Guard Nick Schlitzer netted a team-high 21 points, but the Philadelphia University men's basketball team fell to UMass-Lowell, 92-68, in a non-conference game Saturday afternoon in the Costello Athletic Center.
Center Temi Adebayo, guard Nick Christian and forward Corey Francisco also reached double-digits points for the Rams (1-2). Adebayo recorded 18 points, while Francisco had 10. Christian came close to a triple-double with 17 points, nine rebounds and eight assists.
The Riverhawks (4-0) got a game-high 24 points from Dipanjot Singh in a reserve role. Antonio Bivins and Robbie Walton contributed 15 points each. Akeem Williams had 14 points, while Matt Welch scored 13.
UMass-Lowell barely outrebounded Philadelphia, 25-23.
The Riverhawks broke open a one-point game with a 29-6 run to take an 85-61 lead with 7:35 remaining. Walton scored 10 of the UMass-Lowell in the game-deciding win.
The teams battled in a high-scoring opening half with UMass-Lowell taking a 50-45 lead into the intermission.
Philadelphia goes right back to work Sunday, Nov. 20 with a road contest at Merrimack College starting at 1 p.m.
