Men’s basketball ranked fifth in NCAA Division II East Region rankings

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The Philadelphia University men's basketball is fifth in the first set of NCAA Division II East Region rankings that were released last Wednesday afternoon.

The Rams have an overall and in-region record of 16-7. In the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Philadelphia is 11-3. Philadelphia is one of two CACC schools in the top 10—the other school is Bloomfield in sixth.

Franklin Pierce, a Northeast-10 school, is on top of the East region with an overall and regional record of 17-6. Adelphi is second also at 17-6. District of Columbia (18-2 overall, 16-2 region) and UMass-Lowell (16-7, 16-7) are third and fourth in the East, respectively.

The top eight teams in the region rankings on March 4 make the NCAA Tournament.

Philadelphia takes on the University of the Sciences Thursday, Feb. 16 in the Gallagher Center at 8 p.m.
