Former PhilaU Basketball Standout is Recognized

Philadelphia, PA- Christian Burns '07, former PhilaU basketball standout, is in the news again for making his mark on the international basketball scene. The Ukrainian SuperLeague awarded Burns 'Player of the Year', 'Forward of the Year', 'Import of the Year' and All-Ukrainian SuperLeague first team at the end of the 2011 season. Burns ranked fifth in points per game (16.0), third in rebounds per game (7.8) and sixth in steals/game.

Burns played high school ball at Hamilton High in Trenton, NJ. Continuing his career, he played for PhilaU from 2005-'07 after transferring from Quinnipiac University. Breaking records throughout his time as a Ram, Burns is the most recent men's basketball All-American from PhilaU, receiving that honor in 2007.

He holds PhilaU all-time records in: blocked shots (10th)/individual season, career points (41st) with 1,097 and career blocked shots (8th).
