PHILADELPHIA – The Philadelphia University men's basketball team unveiled its 26-game 2012-13 schedule, which includes a pair of NCAA Tournament teams from a year ago, on Wednesday.
The Rams—who made the NCAA Tournament for the 32nd time in 2012—open the 2012-13 season with five of their first six games being played in the friendly confines of the Gallagher Center.
Philadelphia jumps right into Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference play in the season opener against the University of the Sciences on Nov. 13. Then, the Rams will welcome non-conference opponents Molloy (Nov. 17), UMass-Lowell (Nov. 18), Kutztown (Nov. 20) and Bridgeport (Nov. 24) to campus. UMass-Lowell was a NCAA Tournament team last year, while Bridgeport was the runner-up in the East Coast Conference.
After their first road test of the year at Felician on Dec. 1, the Rams return home to take on Holy Family on Dec. 4.
Philadelphia goes to New York to participate in the Adelphi Holiday Tournament against the College of Saint Rose and the host Panthers on the weekend of Dec. 15-16. The 2012 portion of the schedule ends with the East Region Classic against host Stonehill—a 2012 national semifinalist—and Assumption on Dec. 29 and 30.
The team's final non-conference test comes on Jan. 20 when Washington Adventist comes to Philadelphia. This game starts a three-game home-stand which includes contests against Goldey-Beacom (Jan. 23) and Caldwell (Jan. 26).
February begins with a showdown against the defending CACC champion, Bloomfield, on the 2nd in New Jersey.
The 2012-13 season ends with a home match-up against Chestnut Hill on Feb. 26.
