NEW HAVEN, Conn. – A career-high 35-point performance against Concordia (N.Y.) on Feb. 16 helped propel Philadelphia University freshman forward Peter Alexis (Wilkes-Barre, Pa./Holy Redeemer) to his fourth Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) rookie of the week award on Monday.
Alexis' 35-point afternoon, on 14-of-18 shooting, capped off a week in which he averaged 19.7 ppg and 8.0 rpg, He opened the week with an 11-point, eight-rebound evening in a 68-60 win over Wilmington (Del.) on Feb. 12. Two days later, Alexis went for 13 points and nine rebounds in Philadelphia's 98-95 triple-overtime triumph against Dominican (N.Y.).
This season, Alexis has 13.9 ppg, 8.2 rpg, 45 blocks and a shooting percentage of .614. In the CACC, Alexis is first in shooting percentage, third in blocks and seventh in rebounding.
Philadelphia (15-8, 10-4 CACC) heads to Goldey-Beacom for a CACC southern division battle Tuesday, Feb. 19 at 8 p.m.
